Interpretation
- In this Schedule—
“the 1984 Act” means the Data Protection Act 1984;
“the 1998 Act” means the Data Protection Act 1998;
“the 2014 Regulations” means the Criminal Justice and Data Protection (Protocol No. 36) Regulations 2014 (S.I. 2014/3141);
“data controller” has the same meaning as in the 1998 Act (see section 1 of that Act);
“the old data protection principles” means the principles set out in—- Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the 1998 Act, and
- regulation 30 of the 2014 Regulations.
- A provision of the 1998 Act that has effect by virtue of this Schedule is not, by virtue of that, part of the data protection legislation (as defined in section 3).
