Seers participation in ICO’s Regulatory Sandbox
The Regulatory Sandbox is a service developed by the ICO, to support organisations who are creating products and services which utilise personal data in innovative and safe ways.

UK watchdog resumes investigation of AdTech privacy practices
The UK’s data watchdog has resumed an investigation of AdTech privacy practices as it has seen an increase in the number of complaints across Europe under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
These complaints cover concerns related to real-time bidding (RTB) focus on consent, that leads to people’s personal data being broadcast to many companies as well as the high velocity trading of internet users’ personal data amongst other areas.

Grindr fined €10 Million by Norwegian data protection agency
The Norwegian data protection agency has issued a fine of €10 Million to the US based company: Grindr in relation to consent violations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Since GDPR allows for fines to scale up to 4% of global annual turnover or upto €20M (whichever is higher), thus Grindr could potentially be at risk of a much higher fine due to the nature of the violation.

CNIL issues fine under the GDPR
The CNIL recently sanctioned 150,000 euros and 75,000 euros a data controller and his subcontractor for not having taken satisfactory measures to deal with credential stuffing attacks on the website of the data controller.
Data breach at a dating site leaks details of more than 2.28 million users
A data breach at a dating site: MeetMindful exposed personal data of more than 2.28 million users. This data covered: real names, Facebook account token, email addresses and geo-location information.
