Malware Attack Disrupts Newspapers Production In The US

There were a suspected malware attacks which affected the publication of several newspapers across the US.

Publications printed at Tribune Publishing plants are the affected ones.

The print edition of the Chicago Tribune published without notices and classified ads on Saturday, and delivery was delayed, or it included in the Sunday one. Their phones were also disrupted.

The attack has caused the timeliness and completeness of our newspaper in a statement by Marisa Kollias. However, the website and mobile applications are still secure.

The editor of San Diego Union-Tribune said that the virus started affecting on Thursday and became critical on Friday.
Los Angeles Times also had problems printing the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. Papers which arrive from 3 to 4 a.m. instead arrived at 7 to 8 a.m.

The bservation says that the cyber-attack originated from outside the United States. Whereas, this ransomware was a form of “Ryuk”, which is high target, resourceful and planned Malware Attacks.
