Learn how to install cookie consent banner and privacy policy in Weebly

Seers Cookie Consent can be used on Weebly websites as described below.

Please note: For the time being Weebly has technical limitations which makes it difficult for Seers Cookie Consent to be fully compliant with the prior consent requirement of the ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR.

1. Implementing the Seers Cookie consent dialogue (cookie consent banner) in Weebly:

  1. In the Admin Panel, select Settings then click on SEO at the left-hand side menu.
  2. In the Header Code field, paste the Seers Cookie Consent dialogue script:

    < script data-key="xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxx" data-name="CookieXray" src="https://seersco.com/script/cb.js" type="text/javascript">< /script>

  3. Replace the zeros with the key from the domain group where the domain is added. It is available from the 'Your scripts' tab on your Cookie Consent account.
  4. When complete, click the Save and Publish buttons.

2. Prior consent

To enable prior consent (block the cookies until the user has consented), you need to go to the Seers Cookie Consent on http://www.seersco.com.

The steps are as follows:

  • Step 1:

    Go to http://www.seersco.com
  • Step 2:

    Log in to your Seers Business Account
  • Step 3

    Go Select Cookie Consent from the products icons or left navigation menu
  • Step 4

    You will land into the cookie consent product page. Jump to “3. Dialogue” section from the left navigation and select “Consent Mode” tab. Select “Yes” in the dropdown for “Apply Prior Consent.”

2. Implementing the Cookie Declaration in Weebly:

To show the Cookie Declaration on your website (on a new page or, e.g. as part of your existing privacy policy), do the following:

  1. Select the page where you would like to add the Cookie Declaration.
  2. In the Admin Panel, select Build from the top menu, choose the Embed Code and drag it to where you want the Cookie Declaration to appear on the page.
  3. Click on the Embed Code and Edit Custom HTML, then paste the script tag into the field.

    < div id="seers-cookie-consent"> < /div>

  4. Replace the zeros with the key from the domain group where the domain is added. It is available from the 'Your scripts' tab on your Seers Cookie Consent account.
  5. When the script tag is added, click Publish.

Manually implementing prior consent:

Our script automatically blocks cookies and apply prior consent of known scripts, but if you didn’t find yours script blocked, you can block it manually: here is an example of how you can manually blocks Google Analytics script.

To enable prior consent, add attribute “data-cookieconsent” in script tags which sets cookies. You can use comma to separate the categories “preferences”, “statistics”, “necessary”, “unclassified” and “marketing” according to the type of cookies that script generates. Secondly change the attribute “type” from “text/javascript” to “text/plain”. e.g. Applying prior consent on Google Analytics: In the Header Code field, find the Google Analytics code which looks like below:

< script>  (function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){(i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)})(window,document,'script','//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');

    ga('create', 'UA-00000000-0', 'auto');

    ga('send', 'pageview'); < /script>

After (in bold):

< script type="text/plain" data-cookieconsent="statistics"> (function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){(i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)})(window,document,'script','//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');

    ga('create', 'UA-00000000-0', 'auto');

    ga('send', 'pageview'); < /script>
